Toronto Night 01

I think this was from our last night in Toronto. Or maybe the second to last night...  Anyway, this is from the balcony of our quarters, 42 floors up from the street.  Most of what you see is the financial district.  Quite the view, eh?

I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.

Niagara Falls 02

This is a shot of the "American Falls" at Niagara Falls from the Canada side.  Most of the night the falls were lit in yellow on the left half and red on the right.  For a few minutes the light would change to all white and change again to red, white and blue.  I guess that's to represent the US flag.  I had to be quick because those colors switched back to yellow and red after just a couple of minutes.

I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.

CN Tower 01

Our accommodations in Toronto afforded this view of the CN Tower from the side of our balcony.  It was pretty nice being right across the street from it!  If I remember correctly, the 'CN' stands for Canadian National.  Here are some other facts about the tower from Just Fun Facts:

The CN Tower is a 553.33 meter-high (1,815.4 feet) concrete communications and observation tower in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
When construction of the CN Tower was complete in 1976 it became the world’s tallest free-standing structure and world’s tallest tower at the time. It held both records for 34 years until the completion of Burj Khalifa and Canton Tower in 2010.
It is now the 3rd tallest tower in the world and remains the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere.
It was built by the state railways, the Canadian National Railway, known by the acronym CN, origin of the name of the tower.
The project’s architects were John Andrews, Roger Du Toit, and the Webb Zerafa Menkès Housden Partnership; the structural engineer was R.R. Nicolet.
Construction on the CN Tower began on February 6, 1973 and wrapped up about 40 months later in June 1976. In those 40 months, there were 1,537 workers working 24 hours a day, five days a week.

I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.

Niagara Falls 01

Here is the first photo from our trip to Toronto.  We took a day-night tour of the Niagara Falls.  The day part of the tour included a boat ride into the mist of the horseshoe falls on the right and the night portion of the tour included walking along the Canada side and viewing the falls when highlighted by the colored lights from the shore.

I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.
